Producers: May I pick the genre?
Regularly we get questions from our producers.
This week: May I pick the genre for my tracks?
The answer is no. When you produce your own unique tracks you probably have genres in mind like for instance:
house, techno, tech house, progressive house, electro house, future house, trap, future bass, deep house, hardstyle, pop, dubstep, tropical house, bass house, bigroom, trance, electronica,
These are the categories we use on House of Tracks.
Therefore, after your tracks get approved on our platform, they might be categorized in another genre than you had in mind.
We can explain why.
We, at House of Tracks, follow the trends in dance music, including the (changes in) different genres.
Music evolves, just like everything else in life, so what used to be considered Deep House a year ago might be called House today.
The same goes for all other genres.
Therefore we have the veto on defining the genre for your tracks.
This offers clarity for all.

No guarantee on the genre
Even when you stick to these categories, this is no guarantee we agree with your choice. Therefore, after your tracks get approved on our platform, they might be categorized in another genre than you had in mind.
