Inspiration comes in many shapes, often when we least expect it.
But we all know those days when we want to produce but just don’t feel inspired.
With these tips you might boost your inspiration.

 

1. Don’t overthink

First of all: don’t force yourself to produce and don’t beat yourself up when a track just doesn’t come out the way it sounded in your head.
Allow your inspiration to come through your music in a way you weren’t expecting.
Stay open-minded. 

 

Also: don’t overthink your production and go with the flow.
Not every track you compose needs to be a huge hit. 

 

Another tip is to listen to music made by others.
That one typical sound used in a track, a certain vibe you get, the use of drums – they might trigger you to produce your own track. 

 

4. Keep your sense of humor

Last but not least: don’t forget to keep the humor in your work.
Humor is a wonderful way to look at an uninspired production from a different point of view.
Use funny vocals or cheesy sound effects to lighten your track.
You might never release that particular track but it might jumpstart your imagination en inspiration to produce that one track that will put you on the map.
