How does our Sale feature work?

When selling tracks at House of Tracks you might be aware that some track might need a little extra “push” in order for them to get sold. This is where our sale feature might come in handy! In this article we will explain in depth how this sale feature works.

What is the House of Tracks sale feature?

The House of Tracks sale feature allows producers to temporarily set a track’s price to €199 for a 24-hour period. This gives buyers a limited-time opportunity to purchase high-quality, exclusive tracks at a reduced rate, while producers can boost visibility and sales for selected productions. After 24 hours, the track automatically returns to its original price tier, ensuring the sale is time-limited and clear for both buyers and sellers.

This feature is ideal for artists looking to move catalog quickly, test market demand, or attract new buyers with a special offer. Only eligible tracks can be placed on sale, and the process is managed directly through your House of Tracks dashboard. For more details on how the sale feature works or to check eligibility, see How does our Sale feature work?.

Which tracks are eligible for the sales feature?

Only tracks that have been listed on House of Tracks for a minimum of four weeks are eligible for the sales feature. This waiting period helps ensure that every track maintains its value and exclusivity before being offered at a sale price. Producers looking to maximize their track’s exposure and sales should review our Sale Guidelines for detailed requirements and best practices.

Why is there a four-week eligibility period?

This policy protects both producers and buyers by giving each track enough time to reach its intended audience at its original price. It also helps maintain the integrity of the catalog, ensuring that sale events remain meaningful and not overused.

How to prepare your track for the sales feature

  • Ensure your track is fully uploaded and meets all House of Tracks quality standards.
  • Promote your track during the first four weeks to build interest before it becomes eligible for sale.
  • Once eligible, follow the Sale Guidelines to submit your track for the sales feature.

How do you put tracks up for sale?

To put your track up for sale on House of Tracks, go to your “My Tracks” section. Once your track is eligible, set your desired price and click the price button next to your track. Select “Add to Sale” to activate the Sale feature. Your track will then be highlighted in the sales section for 24 hours, increasing its visibility to buyers searching for exclusive deals.

What happens when you use the Sale feature?

When you add a track to the Sale section, it gets a prominent spot for 24 hours. This is ideal for producers and ghost producers who want to boost exposure and attract DJs, labels, and artists looking for new music. You control the price and can adjust it to match your release strategy or market trends.

Eligibility and tips

Not every track is automatically eligible for the Sale feature. Make sure your track meets House of Tracks’ requirements before listing. For more details on eligibility, see Which tracks are eligible for the sales feature?. To maximize your chances of a sale, set a competitive price and consider timing your release when demand is high.

Why use the Sale feature?

The Sale feature is designed for producers who want to quickly reach a wider audience and move tracks efficiently. It’s a practical way to test pricing, clear your catalog, or spotlight new productions. For more on how the Sale feature works, check the official guidelines on House of Tracks.

What happens when your track is sold?

When your track is sold on House of Tracks, your payout is automatically transferred to your PayPal account. For tracks sold at €299 or less, a fixed commission rate of 36% is deducted. As soon as a track is purchased, you are free to upload and list another production for sale without delay.

How the sale process works

Once a buyer completes the purchase, House of Tracks processes the payment and deducts the commission before sending your earnings to PayPal. This ensures a secure and transparent transaction for every sale. You do not need to manually request your payout; the system handles it for you.

Commission details

For tracks priced at €299 or less, the 36% commission is standard. If your track is sold above this price, check the current commission structure for any differences. This commission covers platform costs, secure handling, and access to a global audience of DJs and labels looking for exclusive productions.

After your track is sold

  • You can immediately upload a new track for sale.
  • Your sold track is removed from the catalog to maintain exclusivity for the buyer.
  • All rights and usage transfer to the buyer, so you cannot resell or reuse the sold production.
